1. Parties & Scope of Services
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all handyman, property maintenance and repair services (“Services”) provided by HireHandymen, operating in Auckland, New Zealand.
Our Services may include general repairs, carpentry, fencing, decking, painting, installations, minor renovations, and other handyman-related work for residential and commercial clients.
By accepting a quote, making a booking, or engaging HireHandymen, you agree to these Terms.
2. Quotes, Payment & Charges
All quotes provided by HireHandymen are estimates based based on the information received at the time. Final pricing may change depending on:
actual site conditions,
accessibility,
additional work required, or
materials needed.
Payment terms will be detailed in the quote. Unless otherwise stated:
a deposit may be required before commencement of work,
final payment is due upon completion and invoice issuance.
If payment is not received by the due date, HireHandymen reserves the right to:
pause or withhold further work,
withhold deliverables or materials,
charge interest or recovery costs where permitted under New Zealand law.
3. Client Responsibilities & Site Conditions
The client agrees to:
provide safe and reasonable access to the property,
ensure the site is free of obstacles and hazards,
provide access to utilities (electricity, water) if required for the Service.
The client is responsible for removing fragile items, furniture, personal belongings or obstructions before work begins.
HireHandymen may refuse or postpone work if:
conditions are unsafe,
access is restricted,
required utilities are not available.
Any additional costs arising from delays caused by the client may be charged.
4. Scheduling, Delays & Weather Conditions
We will schedule the Services at a mutually agreed time and make reasonable efforts to meet the timeframe.
Delays may occur due to:
weather conditions,
supplier delays,
site conditions,
circumstances outside our control.
If weather or safety concerns prevent work from being completed (e.g., exterior work such as fencing, decking, painting), HireHandymen may reschedule without liability.
We will notify you promptly and arrange an alternative date where required.
5. Warranty, Liability & Limitations
HireHandymen warrants that all Services will be carried out with reasonable skill, care, and workmanship consistent with New Zealand industry standards.
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of income, loss of use, or loss of rental value;
our total liability for any direct loss arising from our negligence is limited to the total amount paid by you for the Services.
This warranty does not apply to:
damage caused by misuse, neglect, or failure to maintain the completed work,
issues resulting from pre-existing structural or site conditions,
work modified by third parties after completion.
6. Materials, Subcontractors & Variations
Where necessary, we may engage trusted subcontractors. All subcontracted work will follow the same standards of quality and care.
Any request for changes or additional work outside the original scope will be treated as a variation, and additional charges may apply.
Material choices will be discussed with the client. If specific materials are unavailable, suitable alternatives may be used with client approval.
